This should be the last oil filter you will ever buy. Made from laser cut, medical grade, 304 stainless steel micronic filter cloth, this filter provides 200% more filter area in many cases. Most good paper filters will pass particles in the 90 to 95 micron range, and some tested, as much as 300 microns. Sand is about 125 microns and a white blood cell approximately 25 microns. Flo's stainless filter catches items down to 35 microns "absolute", which is about 3 times better than most good paper or brass filters. *Important when lowering the rear suspension you want to raise the fork tubes in the clamps an equal amount of inches that the rear is being lowered. That way your bike will sit level when done.
Note: We only recommend the 2" lowering links for lighter non-aggressive riders as they allow the tire to rub when near bottoming.
Disclaimer: Lowering the front and/or rear of your motorcycle will change the geometry and may affect the handling, use caution after making changes/adjustments.
Some KLR models from 2004 - 2007 may have a longer shank that do not allow the bolts to tighten to the bearing. If that is the case, we recommend the addition of either a 14 mm split type lock washer or a 15 mm flat washer under the nut of both link mounting bolts.
The Moab shock from Cogent Dynamics will change how you feel about your GEN 3 KLR650. You may like it now, maybe even like it a lot, but you will absolutely fall in love with it once you mount up a Moab shock.
Spring duties are handled by a custom spring available in either Standard or Heavy-Duty weights. The Standard spring will be fine if you are under 250 pounds and don't ride with luggage or passengers often. Ride heavily loaded or with a passenger regularly and you will probably want the Heavy-Duty spring.
There is very limited manual preload adjustment access on the Gen 3 KLR650 without removing the shock. Therefore, the addition of the Remote Preload adjuster gives you the convenience of optimizing your rear suspension spring preload for quick leveling (load compensation) of your bike to accommodate a passenger, luggage or just to change ride characteristics based on your preferences. The adjustment which would normally require reaching the shock in your bike to turn a threaded collar using a tool can be easily adjusted by twisting a remote knob which uses the convenience of hydraulics to change the spring preload up to 100% (9 mm total range of preload change).
There is a mounting conflict for the Remote Preload adjuster with the Happy Trails and T-REX crash bars.
These Cogent Drop-in Dynamic Cartridges will vastly improve both the compression and rebound damping of your stock forks. These units have been given the seal of approval by the ProCycle staff for both performance and ease of installation. No disassembly of your forks, no drilling of damper rods. Just change the oil over to 5w and install the DDCs under the springs and hit the trails.

The new DG RST (Reduced Sound Technology) muffler is the quietest DG muffler and is designed especially for dual-sport machines (Just 89db @ 3200 RPM). A new baffle design dissipates sound waves reducing noise output in a very efficient manner. This new design also stretches out the time between muffler repacks. Included is a Stainless Steel mid-pipe, USFS Approved Spark Arrestor and a new Aluminum end cap.
You may want to consider a new exhaust gasket that goes between the header and the muffler.
