Will not fit without modification (2009) KLR
If someone knows how these would fit without modification please let me know. The sizing was significantly off in terms of excess depth (not fitment - aok) and the poly needed to be cut down (first with a hot knife and then shaved down to be smooth with a table grinder). If you compare these to the original they simply don't match up. At first I hoped that it wouldn't be an issue but the poly does not compress like rubber might. Once shaved down to fit properly they are a significant improvement. Basically we measured the originals and went for similar....the entire mushroom top of each one - took about 20 minutes so not a deal breaker but if you cut one wrong or screwed up then you are out of luck as I am sure they could not be returned in that state. You have a decent little shop if you are installing these or maybe you might want to consider oem if you want it to just fit from the get go - still think the poly is better once sized correctly.
