Suzuki makes it almost impossible to replace your stock grips. It's much easier with a new throttle tube.
Ease the pressure on your wrist during those long highway drones out to where the fun begins. ProCycle has developed this kit that includes a Vista-Cruise throttle lock, a specially modified alloy throttle tube and an anchor plate that attaches to your throttle housing. Just flip the thumb lever down to apply enough friction to hold the throttle in place. Use the supplied longer screw to attach the anchor plate to your lower throttle housing bolt hole. Also included is a tension adjustment tool that you can keep on your key ring. Keep the applied tension lightly adjusted so it's easy to roll the throttle off.

The MadStad brackets bolt to your fork clamps putting the windshield just in front of your instrument cluster for street riding, with adjustability for height and angle. Your choice of an aluminum bolt-on foot pad or a steel weld-on unit. Each will make the footprint of the stock side stand considerably larger, preventing your DR from tipping over in soft terrain. The bolt-on unit is cut from aluminum and then powder coated black, it comes with stainless steel mounting hardware.
The bolt-on pad and does require use of a drill for installation. The weld-on pad will need to be welded to the stand and then the entire unit painted for corrosion protection.

It is a good practice to replace your sealing washer with every oil change. These 10 piece kits are made up of 5 Copper washers and 5 Aluminum washers. The manufacturer recently decided to make half of the kit Copper washers as that is the material of choice for many OEM manufactures. This gives you the opportunity to decide which you prefer, but either will work great at creating a leak-free seal between the case and the drain plug.
With this upgrade, you can avoid having to keep new replacement cotter pins on hand every time you adjust your chain.
