CNC machined from 5mm aluminum 5083 plate with lots of slots to attach your Rok Straps (or other straps). This gives a considerably wider deck than the standard B&B Rack. This DRZ400 rear rack, hand-built by B&B Engineering in Australia is made from 4mm aluminium 5083 plate tig welded to the support tubing circumventing the plate. This material was chosen because of its extreme suitability for welding as well as abrasion and impact resistance, and all of this keeping in mind the full weight of the bike and rider. Once complete they are given a polished finish or coated with a super-durable black polymer. All Carry/Luggage Racks are supplied with the necessary stainless clamps and bolts where possible.

The Neutral Sending Unit "NSU" on the DR650 can be a problem. The factory screws tend to loosen over time. You really would not want them to get loose in your motor! The permanent solution is to safety wire them. We looked high and low and finally found pre-drilled screws in the correct length and thread pitch. Here we offer a complete kit to take care of those pesky screws.

If you don't do this, you don't have a screw loose, you have TWO screws loose!

For reference, the stock gearing for the WR250R is 13/43 while the X model runs with a 13/42 stock configuration because of the SM wheels/tires. Both use a 108 link chain with the stock gearing.

The JT rear sprockets listed are made from the finest 545C high carbon steel and are then heat treated and hand finished to meet or exceed OEM standards. Outlasts many mild steel or surface hardened sprockets as much as two and three times over.

If you want the additional low-end grunt that the 46, 48 or 50 tooth rear sprocket will give you, you will need longer chain as well.

New Rear Sprockets require new Sprocket Bolts because of a difference in the holes vs. the stock bolts.

Spring duties are handled by a custom spring available in either Standard or Heavy-Duty weights. The Standard spring will be fine if you are under 250 pounds and don't ride with luggage or passengers often. Ride heavily loaded or with a passenger regularly and you will probably want the Heavy-Duty spring.

For a true comfort and performance package, we highly recommend upgrading your front suspension at the same time.

Heavy duty shock bumper. The stock bumper is prone to disintegrating with age. If you are re-valving your shock it's a good idea to be sure the bumper is in good shape.
