The Pro-Series is the suspension performance pinnacle. Cogent takes Mojave’s best-in-class performance and adds an external reservoir.

The Pro-Series’ sophisticated reservoir with interchangeable valves and shims, provides more tune-ability at all speeds. It also improves internal pressure balance and temperature dissipation, giving long lasting performance regardless of the punishment you put it through.

Comes standard with the CNC machined Bling Ring Preload Adjuster Collar and a thrust bearing between the adjuster ring and the spring making preload adjustments easy.

The optional Hydraulic Preload Adjuster makes it even easier to adjust the preload. Just twist the knob. Includes mounting bracket for knob unit. (See last image)  (Some CA carb compliant models may need slight modification for mounting the preload adjuster.)

Select the spring you want installed based on the load you plan to carry. *Spring color may vary due to specification requirement and availability.

For riders (and gear) less than 250 pounds we recommend the 7.6 kg/mm spring.

If you regularly have more than 250 pounds on the bike, you might want to use the 8.15 kg/mm spring.

Low shock also available. This option will lower your seat height 1" without the need for lowering links. All other features of this shock are the same as the stock height.

Cogent Dynamics Mojave product is a drop-in replacement for the DR650 stock shock, no modifications necessary. Mojave is not simply an improved Suzuki shock, it is a brand new replacement shock that is a totally engineered suspension solution to suit your needs.

Each shock is assembled and tested on the Cogent Dynamics suspension dyno before being packed up and shipped. Like its bigger brother the Mojave Pro Series, this will make an incredible difference in the handling of your DR.

Mojave Improvements over stock
Mojave upper mount: uses a precision spherical bearing with dust seals, which accurately transfers damping forces to the motorcycle frame.

Internal improvements: Cogent designed shaft, seal head, damper piston, adjuster and clevis.
Mono tube construction: precision honed, super-stiff steel body with an upper body cap machined from billet aluminum.
Built-in billet aluminum separator piston provides an in-line gas pressure reservoir which eliminates the Suzuki rubber bladder.

This thrust bearing is designed to sit between the shock spring and the preload adjusting nut on the shock. This bearing will eliminate spring binding during shock action and will make turning the preload collars much easier. The bearing kit includes two cupped washers, one thrust bearing and inner & outer o-rings to keep out water and dirt.

Using billet aluminum components, a large heavy-duty 16mm piston rod and a high-flow capacity 46mm piston, this shock flows much more oil for a more consistent, fade-free performance than most other shocks.

Nitron shocks are custom built for your specific weight, if you have a passenger or luggage add that weight as well. Lastly your riding conditions; do you ride mainly paved roads, dirt roads, trails? This 'Bling Ring' replaces the two stock preload/lock rings. The ring is CNC machined aluminum with the additional thickness to provide superior support on the shock body.

The added needle bearing thrust washer will make preload adjustments much easier. The ring then spins much easier against the spring making adjustments quite a bit easier.

This part can easily be added to the Cogent or Race Tech Shock Shaft Assemblies, even after they are built.

To install the Bling Ring on a shock with a stock shaft it must either be disassembled or have the lower clevis removed.

Don't want to buy a new shock? This rebuild makes the stock shock about 10 times better. We send shocks to Cogent Dynamics. They clean them up, hard anodize the bodies for better wear, and install new Shock Shaft Assemblies with rebound damping adjustment.

Any aftermarket spring for your stock shock will fit on this shock. If you are using the original spring, you will want to order a stiffer spring to go with your new shock. Our 7.5 kg/mm rear spring is 16% stiffer than the stock one and is perfect for the majority of riders. If you are a larger rider, or carry a lot of gear or a passenger (total weight exceeding 250 pounds) you will probably want the 8.3 kg/mm rear spring which is 28% stiffer than stock.

Cogent Dynamics takes a stock DR650 shock, tears it down, cleans it up, adds a hard ceramic coating, then rebuilds it with a completely new custom shim stack that gives you excellent rear wheel control. This custom Cogent valve stack makes this shock behave much like its Shock Shaft brother above without the rebound adjustment.

Recommended spring rates:

  • Rider & gear up to 150 lb = Stock 6.5 spring
  • Rider & gear up to 200 lb = 7.5 spring
  • Rider & gear 200-275 lb = 8.3 spring
  • Rider & gear 275-350 lb = 8.6 spring
  • Rider & gear 350 lb & up = 9.6 spring
