The Kawasaki KLR650 is a 651 cc single, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, 4-valves, dual-sport motorcycle intended for both on-road and off-road riding. It was a long-standing model in Kawasaki's lineup, having been introduced in 1987 and remaining almost unchanged through the 2007 model. The 2008 model was the first significant redesign of the KLR650 since its inception.

This Australian made bash plate is made from 4mm aluminum 5083 plate. This plate is chosen because of its extreme suitability for welding, abrasion and impact resistance, bearing in mind the full weight of the bike and rider.
All bash plates are supplied with the necessary stainless clamps and bolts where possible. All bash plates have a polished finish and have foam or rubber where required.

Included in this package is the fourth generation engine guard-highway peg combination giving the rider many more choices in riding positions for greater comfort mile after mile. The highway pegs provide bonus protection for the engine side cases, and they easily fold-up when not in use.
SW-Motech Crash Bars and Engine Guards for both generations of the KLR bolt to the frame, not the foot peg bolts for greater strength. Images show a set of these hand guards installed on a set of CR High Gunmetal Fly Handlebars with large black deflectors. The far right image shows the need to flip the brackets that attach to the bar on the clutch and front brake side. On the front brake side the clamp must go over the front brake line while on the clutch side it goes under the cable.
Note: This kit includes the handguards only. Deflectors sold separate, can be added by selecting color from drop down menu.

Some models with adjustable windscreens may need the windscreen rotated forward, such as the Royal Enfield Himalayan, to avoid contact at full lock. These are not compatible on Honda CB500X's and Honda Africa Twins.
These handguards come with mounts that will work on both standard and and oversize bars. The aluminum wrap-around bar is the biggest on the market with two large plastic shields that are also some of the largest available. The X-Factor hand guards offer great protection from the elements, especially during those colder months when you're trying to stretch out your riding season.
