Africa Twin (CRF1000L): Seats

Corbin has replaced the two piece stock unit with a single piece model to provide more structural support. They've built two models, one to emulate the seat height of the stock seat in the upper position and one to provide an easier ground reach like the stock seat in the low position. By designing each seat specifically, they were able to keep excellent ergonomics and a properly neutralized seating platform. Corbin's saddle is designed to work with the optional Honda saddlebags. Mounts to the motorcycle similar to stock and secures with the Honda key lock system. All brackets are included and pre-mounted on the seat so it's ready for immediate installation.

Passenger seating area is designed with a neutralized platform to curb sliding forward in the saddle. Dished shaping provides an excellent contact patch while maintaining a clean look. For the best combination of looks and support, add the Ovalbac backrest shown. This backrest provides a generous, contact patch for excellent support. Angle adjustment is simple and can be performed without removing the saddle or backrest from the bike. Please note, the Corbin backrests may not work in the saddle if you are using the Honda trunk.

Want to add a bit of convenient storage without installing a trunk? Corbin's glovebox is an excellent solution for all your quick-access stuff. Simply replace the finishing plate on the Ovalbac backrest and you've just added four liters of locking storage capacity. It's plenty for a couple bottles of water, cell phone, spare gloves, maps and other incidentals. Constructed of durable ABS plastic and available plain or prepainted black.

The design shown includes Black Grabber seating with Asphalt vinyl contrasting sides and nose with a tasteful color coordinated welt. Default vinyl choices are black 'carbon fiber' on top and 'asphalt' on the sides, 'no welts', black logo. You can view all of the available materials and colors through the link below. Seat Concepts seats are constructed using a foam material that is a much higher quality than OEM seat foam. Their proprietary formula provides a more plush and active ride, while still offering the necessary amount of support. Their unique comfort shape maintains a similar contour to stock at the front of the seat so the rider’s legs are not spread farther apart, but tapers out towards the mid-point to distribute rider weight over a greater area.

On this model, we dished out the rear slightly to level out the angle of the rider platform, and reduce the slope-into-tank feeling of the stock seat.

The front portion of this saddle is 1" taller than stock. Seat Concepts makes some of the finest aftermarket seats available. Hand made in Caldwell, Idaho they will make long days in the saddle something you look forward to, not dread. Their custom and proprietary foam formula provides a more plush ride while still offering necessary support.

Their unique shape maintains the basic shape of the stock seat at the front, narrower so that the rider's legs are not spread too far, then tapers out towards the mid-point to better distribute the riders weight over a greater area than the stock saddle. For this tall model specifically, they build up the front of the seat, but then dished out the rear slightly to level out the angle of the rider platform. This reduced the angle to eliminate that slide into the tank.

This is the secret for being able to put in those 500 mile days. Even a good touring seat can feel a bit firm after a couple hundred miles. Sheepskin gives that little bit of 'cush' and provides superior air circulation. Velcro straps allow easy removal when you don't need it. Measures 14" wide by 19" long.

This seat is black 'carbon fiber' on top and 'asphalt' on the sides, with red welts, exactly as shown. Slight discrepancies with cover under seat, and slightly off center foam thickness, indicated in pictures. As is, no warranty.
