This adapter set is required to fit an aftermarket spring to the Vstrom shock

Heavy duty shock bumper. The stock bumper is prone to disintegrating with age. If you are re-valving your shock it's a good idea to be sure the bumper is in good shape.

In stock form, the forks, featuring a single spring design are under sprung for any rider over 100 pounds. With limited travel, adding a stiffer spring in the right leg only per the stock design was not a viable option.

Race Tech instead offers a High Performance Spring Kit that adds a stiffer spring to the other fork. (The overall spring rate in the forks is the average spring rate between both legs.) This upgrade will make a drastic improvement in handling for most riders.

FMF mufflers do not require a joint gasket but all other aftermarket mufflers as well as the stock muffler require a joint gasket. From Shinko Tires, the 705 Series are DOT approved Dual Sport tires designed for 75% street and 25% trail riding. A versatile tread pattern provides excellent wet and dry weather adhesion and the compound resists tearing while riding off-road. "R" in size denotes a radial tire.

Dunlop designed the D606 tire to be street-legal but with an emphasis on aggressive off-road riding and great durability. A full-depth tread pattern designed for rigorous off-road use yields excellent traction on everything from hard-packed fire roads to soft single-track trails. At the same time, the D606's tread compound is engineered for good highway durability and grip.
