The side racks are well designed and well made. The paint finish is a smooth black paint that is consistent and appears to be evenly applied. The welds are consistent and seem to be solid. Overall, the frames have a very solid look and feel.

The side rack frames do not interfere with operation of the passenger foot pegs. The side rack frame's fit close to the bike's side covers so they don't interfere with the rider getting on and off the bike. Both of the bike's side covers can be removed, using a bit of finesse, while the racks remain installed. My DR650 is fitted with a PM Enduro rack, and I was able to install the side racks (sandwiched between the PM Enduro rack attachment tabs and the passenger grab handles) without any fitment issues. I did end up installing longer hex head cap screws (M8 x 1.25 x 40mm) for better fastener thread penetration to compensate for the stack of goodies installed (PM rack, side racks, and grab handles).

The hex heads of the four metric screws (M8 x 1.25) that attach the side racks to the passenger foot peg mounts do look a bit chunky once installed, so I replaced them with metric phillips head screws for an OEM-like appearance. Note: both photos show the side racks installed without the passenger foot pegs installed and hex head screws replaced; these were done after the photos were taken.

A nice benefit of the side racks being so sturdy is that they'll provide protection for the bike's side covers and exhaust can tip for when you drop the bike on the trail when no luggage is in place (yes, you will eventually drop your bike).

The side racks are a bit pricey, but they are well designed, fit well, and are well made. Recommended!
