FAQ: Why are both sides of my LED turn signals flashing at the same time?

Q: Why are both sides of my LED turn signals flashing at the same time?

I installed LED turn signals in place of my stock signals and now both right and left sides flash regardless of which direction I choose.

A: You may need a diode kit to make the circuit compatible with LED turn signals

The signal indicator light on your dash is likely causing power to back feed into the wiring causing both sides to light up. This happens with incandescent OEM turn signals too, but because the bulbs take much more power to illuminate, the residual power spilling over isn't enough to make them flash. Since LED turn signals need significantly less power to illuminate, the residual power is enough to cause them to turn on.

Wiring up a diode kit will resolve this issue and allow you retain a functional indicator light. Otherwise the indicator light must be disconnected.
