Tech Talk: Stand and Deliver - Upgrading Your Foot Pegs

In this month's Tech Talk, Carl discusses aftermarket foot peg options to reduce rider fatigue and improve your dual-sport riding experience.

Foot pegs are often overlooked by riders, but they're actually a crucial component on your dual-sport bike. Beyond the obvious fact that you can't stand up without them, quality foot pegs play a major role in reducing rider fatigue during long adventures.

Stock foot pegs are typically small, inadequate platforms that can leave your feet aching after a day of riding. If you've ever finished a ride feeling like your feet were being poked and prodded all day, those tiny stock pegs are likely the culprit. The good news is that aftermarket options provide significant improvements in comfort and control.

One style that our customers choose most often is Pivot Pegs. They offer a unique feature that becomes especially noticeable when riding varied terrain. As you're going uphill or downhill, these pegs rotate slightly to accommodate the changing angles, providing additional comfort and adjustability. They also feature a much wider and longer platform compared to stock pegs, giving your feet substantially more support.

Motion offers a similarly pivoting foot peg system. Their pegs include an Allen head screw on the bottom that allows you to adjust the tension. You can fine-tune how much the pegs rotate forward or backward to match your riding preferences and comfort needs.

Other excellent choices include Warp 9's billet aluminum pegs with adjustable tops that you can raise or lower easily, IMS pegs known for their top-quality construction, and Fastway pegs that offer an exceptionally wide base for maximum foot support.

All quality aftermarket foot pegs feature more aggressive tops with better grip patterns. This improved traction helps hold your boots in place, which becomes especially important in wet conditions or challenging terrain where foot placement is critical for control and safety. These features help reduce fatigue, provide better stability, and make you a happier rider at the end of the day.

Don't let those inadequate stock pegs limit your adventures. Be sure to check out our video for more details.
