In this month’s tech talk, Carl talks about aftermarket seats for your motorcycle.
If you’re going to be taking a long trip or be on your motorcycle for a long period of time, you’re going to want a better seat! A poor-quality seat can cause significant fatigue, and after a full day of uncomfortable riding, you won’t be looking forward to the next day’s ride. Many riders assume that their stock seats are too firm, when they are actually too soft. The seat foam compresses so much that they no longer do a good job of absorbing bumps and shocks, so after you’ve been in the saddle for an hour or so, the stock soft seats feel rigid, like you’re sitting on a brick.
The aftermarket seats we sell use premium foam to properly support riders all day long, greatly reducing fatigue. The complete seats we sell also feature improved seat pans to give the foam more stability to do its job.
We also offer different choices for the seat covers. The standard style cover is often a basket-weave/carbon-fiber material, which allows only a small amount of sliding, while “gripper” seat top or sides hold you even more firmly in place when you’re in rugged off-road conditions.
Don’t let your stock seat ruin a great ride! If you have any questions, please send us an e-mail or call or text us, and we’d be happy to help.
